Page & Pen Writing Workshop
Grab your notebook and a pen, and let's write!
About the event
Grab your notebook and a pen, and let's write! The Page & Pen Writing Workshop meets roughly every six weeks and is open to anyone who wants to improve their creative writing skills. Session formats vary and may include writing exercises, discussion about technique and process, sharing ideas for organizing work sessions and workspaces, or exploration of any challenges you may be facing in the struggle to write.
Topic for this session: The Writer's Desk
Truman Capote claimed he wrote best while lying down. Ernest Hemingway wrote standing at a typewriter on a chest-high shelf. Edith Wharton wrote in bed, longhand, with her dogs nearby. What does your workspace look like? Do you work best in the same space every time, or are you a mobile laptop nomad? In this 90-minute session that will include a few writing exercises, we'll investigate strategies for organizing workspaces.
This program is open to anyone at any time: drop in once, attend every session, or show up every once in a while -- no long-term commitment is required. Space is often limited, so please register in advance.
