About the event

Join us for a prehistoric plunge into ancient seas! Recommended for children ages 5 and up, this hands-on experience invites young paleontologists to explore mini fossil dig sites and uncover real marine fossils, such as shark teeth and coral. During the dig, participants can take a closer look at their discoveries using a microscope.

This program will be held at North Regional Library Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 10a.m. The address is 221 Milton Rd. Durham, NC 27712.

This event will be held outside, weather permitting, so please dress accordingly.

Homeschool Learning Lab meets weekly year-round. In the summer, we ask for registration in order to help with program prep. Please register each child attending.

If you have any questions, accessibility questions or accommodation needs, please contact Molly at mschaefer@dconc.gov. We ask that all requests be made at least three (3) business days prior to the event to ensure we can provide the best accommodations possible!
