Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence on 8 July 1776 by attending a 2026 public reading of the Declaration of Independence.
Join members of Franklin County's Del Webb at Traditions Veteran's Club for the 250th anniversary of the reading of the Declaration of Independence on the steps of the State House in Philadelphia (now Independence Hall) July 8, 1776. The Declaration will be read by guest speakers from the Franklin County community and local government at exactly noon. Refreshments will be served from 11:30am - 2:30pm. Come enjoy lunch, support local veterans and listen to the words of the Declaration of Independence from the lens of modern day America. All members of community are encouraged to join the festivities. There is no cost to attend. The Del Webb at Traditions Veteran's Club will be collecting donations at this event to support local veteran organizations.
