About the event

Join Andrea Fowler, Postpartum Doula & Certified Lactation Counselor, to start your infant feeding journey off with calm and confidence!

During this FREE course, you will learn small, but impactful adjustments to help ensure your comfort and baby’s ability to remove milk effectively during direct breast/bodyfeeding. We will practice paced bottle feeding, discuss different bottle/nipple shapes and explain how to introduce a bottle, so that you can feed your baby human milk in the way that works best for your family.

Registration is encouraged but not required. Each pregnant or lactating parent may bring along one support partner. Babies in arms (under 1 year) are welcome. The course will be 10am-12pm including time to address your specific questions and concerns. Snacks and socializing will follow.

Signs of a shallow latch

Adjustments to improve latch

Postpartum support resources

Feeding goals

Introducing bottles

Voyager @ Books, Babies, & Brews

Join us for a Baby Storytime led by Franklin County Library, sensory exploration & coffee with Franklin County Parks and Recreation, and health education & resources provided by FCHD RIMC Program! This event is rain or shine, every Friday from Sept-Nov at 10:00 a.m., featuring different County Parks each month. It is designed for newborns to cruisers with an in-the-lap 15-minute Storytime and sensory toys appealing to younger babies. Storytime will start a few minutes after 10:00 a.m. and the rest of the hour is for free play, socializing, and taking advantage of the Bookmobile, Voyager! September-Franklinton Park October-Epsom Park November-V.E. and Lydia H. Owens Recreational Park at Bull Creek
