Miniature Books and Bookcases!

About the event

Love books and reading? Love your library? Love miniatures?

Drop in between 5:30-7 p.m. to craft miniature books and bookcases out of recycled materials! Store your miniature books in a miniature bookcase!

Customize your books and bookcases to reflect you!

Supplies like decorative paper, miniature objects, and stickers are provided but please bring your own Altoids tin and anything else you would like to use or add to your miniature books and bookcase!

Bookcases will be made with reused Altoid tins with dimensions of 3.75inches long, 2.375 inches wide, and 0.75 inches deep.

The program is appropriate for adults and juveniles of all ages with an adult guardian present. Please register everyone attending

Drop in between 5:30 p.m. through 7 p.m. on May 13th for an open crafting session in the MakerLab located on the first floor of the Durham County Main Library. Volunteers will be on hand for assistance with the construction of the mini books and bookcases.

Registration is required to ensure there are enough crafting supplies available for participants. Please cancel your registration if you are unable to attend so that those on the waitlist may attend.

Voyager @ Books, Babies, & Brews

Join us for a Baby Storytime led by Franklin County Library, sensory exploration & coffee with Franklin County Parks and Recreation, and health education & resources provided by FCHD RIMC Program! This event is rain or shine, every Friday from Sept-Nov at 10:00 a.m., featuring different County Parks each month. It is designed for newborns to cruisers with an in-the-lap 15-minute Storytime and sensory toys appealing to younger babies. Storytime will start a few minutes after 10:00 a.m. and the rest of the hour is for free play, socializing, and taking advantage of the Bookmobile, Voyager! September-Franklinton Park October-Epsom Park November-V.E. and Lydia H. Owens Recreational Park at Bull Creek
