If you know how to use a sewing machine and to do basic hand sewing, join Connecting with Threads to create your own projects in our "Open Sew" series. This is a series of programs where teens and tweens will be able to continue to build their knowledge as independent sewers. You will be provided a list of projects you can work on for yourself or use one of our kits to create a bag, a pillowcase, a quilt or other item to give back to our community! All items created for the community will be donated through a local nonprofit organization to reach our community members who need them. There are other dates in this series, including Apr 11, Apr 25, May 9, May 23, June 6 and June 20. This program is for teens and tweens ages 9 and up! Registration is required!

Participate in the Royal Game of Chess! The Downtown Durham Chess Club meets on selected Saturdays from 1:30-5:30 pm; check the calendar for dates. All are welcome to attend regardless of age or skill level. Instruction will be provided to beginners and novices. Sets and boards are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own if you wish.
