Women, it's time to control your health! This program is designed to teach you the proper usage of exercise machines, free weights, resistance bands, Bosu balls, and more. You will learn exercise principles and improve your physical fitness. You will also learn how to design a personal exercise program to meet your goal.

Come join a supportive group environment for self-paced digital skills courses. We'll be using Northstar Digital Literacy, a free online resource available to all Durham County Library patrons. A library staff member will be present to get you set up and answer questions as each participant moves through online modules on their own at their own pace. Northstar allows you to track your learning progress and earn badges or certificates for completing a course. These classes are best for learners who have at least basic keyboard and mouse skills. Our computer lab has a limited number of laptops for use, so bringing your own laptop and headphones is encouraged.

Celebrate National Crayon Day and have some fun with watercolors! While you exercise your artistic side, you will learn about water’s special properties and why it is so valuable. Water conservation experts from the City of Durham’s Department of Water Management will lead a water-themed activity and there will even be a special visit from our beloved mascot, Wayne Drop! From diverse backgrounds and industries, SCORE mentors know what it’s like to be a small business owner. Partnering with entrepreneurs one-on-one, SCORE mentors support small business success by providing experienced advice, consulting on best practices, and education on business topics. Anyone can successfully start a business with the right support--connect with a mentor and get the guidance you need to grow and thrive. Small business owners who receive three or more hours of mentoring report higher revenues and increased growth.
This program is "open office hours" style--first come, first served--every Tuesday (12-4) & Thursday (1-4). Mentors will be here to help you on your entrepreneurial journey!

Step into the world of shinobi and create a ramen worthy of legend. In this Naruto-inspired food lab, teens will build their own custom ramen bowl, choose bold toppings, and assign powerful ninja abilities to their creation. Design your recipe and rank up from Genin to Hokage.
Registration is required. Please inform us of any food allergies. For teens ages 12–18.

A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. This 8-class series will show participants exercises to help improve balance and prevent the likelihood of future falls. This event is co-sponsored by Duke Trauma Center and the Durham Center for Senior Life.
